The difference between colloidal batteries and ordinary lead-acid batteries

Colloid batteries belong to a development classification of lead-acid batteries. The method is to add a gelling agent to sulfuric acid to make the sulfuric acid electrolyte colloidal. Batteries with colloidal electrolyte are usually called colloidal batteries. The difference between colloidal batteries and conventional lead-acid batteries is that the initial understanding of electrolyte gelation has been further developed to the electrochemical characteristics of the electrolyte basic structure, as well as the application and promotion in grids and active materials.

The most important feature is: using a smaller industrial cost to produce better quality batteries, its discharge curve is straight, the inflection point is high, its energy and power are more than 20% greater than conventional lead-acid batteries, and its life is generally about twice as long as conventional lead-acid batteries, and its high and low temperature characteristics are much better.

The difference between gel batteries and ordinary lead-acid batteries:

1High quality and long cycle life. The colloidal electrolyte can form a solid protective layer around the plate, protecting the plate from damage and cracking due to vibration or collision, preventing the plate from being corroded, and preventing the plate from bending and short circuiting between the plates when the battery is used under heavy load, so as not to reduce the capacity. It has particularly good physical and chemical protection, and its life is twice that of ordinary lead-acid batteries. 

2 It is safe to use and environmentally friendly, and can be said to be a truly green power source. The electrolyte of the colloidal battery is solid, sealed, and the gel electrolyte will never leak, which will keep the specific gravity of each part of the battery the same. It uses a special calcium-lead-tin alloy grid, which is more corrosion-resistant and has better charging acceptance. It shows off its ultra-high strength partition to prevent short circuits. Imported high-quality safety valves, precise valve control to adjust the pressure. A filter acid mist explosion-proof device is installed, which is safer and more reliable. There will be no acid mist gas precipitation and no electrolyte overflow during application. There will also be harmful elements to the human body during the production process. It is non-toxic and pollution-free, preventing the large amount of electrolyte overflow and penetration during the use of traditional lead-acid batteries. The floating charge current is small, the battery generates less heat, and the electrolyte will not have acid stratification.

3Good deep discharge cycle performance. The capacity can be 100% recharged when the battery is deeply discharged and then replenished in time, which can meet the needs of high-frequency and deep discharge, so its scope of use is wider than that of lead-acid batteries. 

4Small self-discharge, good deep discharge performance, strong charging acceptance, small upper and lower potential difference, and large capacity. It has been significantly enhanced in low-temperature starting ability, charge retention ability, electrolyte retention ability, cycle durability, vibration resistance, and temperature change resistance. It can be stored for 2 years at room temperature of 20℃ and can be put into operation without charging. 

5Widely adaptable to the environment (temperature). It can be used in the temperature range of -40℃--65℃, especially with good low-temperature performance, and is suitable for use in high-cold areas in the north. It has good seismic performance and can be used safely in various harsh environments. It will not be limited by space and can be placed in any direction when used.
